Can i pursue Phd after completion of my PGDM programme? | sneha | Yes, You can Pursue Phd after completion of PGDM programme if the college is Recognized by AICTE(All India counsel for technical Education) and AIU (Association of indian Universities) Which makes PGDM Programme Equivalent To an MBA Degree. | | What are the criteria & entrance required for taking admission in a top mba colleges in india?Kindly let me know if there is any % Criteria.Plz Guide me. | Pooja singh | Top admission in top mba colleges of india ,You need to have the following eligibility :
1)Recognised Bachelor"s Degree in any discipline of minimum 3 years duration obtained atleast 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination
2) Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2012 can also apply, provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item 3 or 4 above) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme
3)Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if (a) the programmes are recognized by the DEC-IGNOU, (b) they have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks in average calculated as per item (3 or 4) above. They must enclose photocopies of pass certificate and marksheets of qualifying examination with their application
4)If any foreign bachelors Degree is there than it would be required to obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU for the persuaded graduation degree.
5)In case, any University awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the procedure prescribed by the University. In case, a University does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100
5)Candidates Should have a valid entrance Examination scores Like CAT / MAT / XAT / GMAT .

APPROVALS-
MBA is the programme being offered by the university and the university is itself being recognized by UGC.
PGDM programme is offered by different colleges being recognized by AICTE(ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION) PGDM course is a technical course.
PPROGRAMME STRUCTURE-
Since MBA is a tradition course having the traditional programme structure being offered by different the different state/central universities and in PGDM the programme structure is being designed by the colleges offering Aicte approved programme,keeping the corporate requirement in mind.
TEACHING METHOD-
In MBA more emphasis is laid on the course content ,mean more of the theoretical knowledge is given to students(Except autonomous Approved colleges/Universities)Where as in PGDM the programme being Autonomous more emphasis is done on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge.
FEES STRUCTURE-
Fees structure for the PGDM programme is much higher than MBA programme except few autonomous or Deemed Universities (Eg ICFAI ,Symbiosis )or Government universities. | |
